The classes:-

Infantry

The core trooper type is the infantryman who fulfills a flexible battlefield role, able to lay down effective firepower coupled with basic engineering skills. The infantryman is a tough fighter, armed and armoured for most battlefield conditions. Their main strength lies in their ability to quickly construct fortifications anywhere on the field and use them as fire bases to support the advancing corps. This engineering skills extends to the use of a range of mines used to bring down tunnels and destroy enemy strongholds.

Medic

The Medics are primarily responsible for providing care for the wounded on the battlefield. Trained in the use of the Mobile Examination, Diagnosis and Intervention Kit (MEDI-Kit) they are always a welcome sight amongst the frontline troopers and are revered for their selfless efforts to aid their comrades under the harshest battle conditions. Lightly armed and armoured they provide little influence on the battle, but, as adept scientists, provide crucial research data on new species and also vital experience and ideas in the field of military medicine.

Recon

The Recon troopers provide vital intelligence on enemy movements and positions. They are effectively the eyes and ears of the corps and are crucial to maintenance of the frontline. These fast, lightly armed troopers are masters of camouflage and evasion techniques and are able to move undetected behind enemy lines. The standard issue laser rifle provides the Recon trooper with little ranged offensive capability, but the Recon doctrine puts heavy emphasis on close combat and the most experienced Recon troops are fearsome warriors at close quarters. In the recent war with the bugs their use of the of Lightweight Seismic Detectors to find bug tunnels has saved thousands of troopers lives.

Support

The heavy weapons division of the corps provides these troopers to provide awesome firepower in direct support of the infantry. These soldiers wear bulky armoured suits which slow them down considerably, but are necessary to host the range of harness and gravitators that allow the human form to simply carry such fearsome weapons, never mind apply them under battlefield conditions! The most common weapons seen employed by these troopers are the High-Energy Localised Laser Cannon (HELL Cannon), the multi-barreled 20mm Chaingun (nicknamed the Hedgetrimmer) and the Missile Launcher.
